Syed Saad Ali Pasha is an international development specialist with over a decade of experience in sustainability, trade, and private sector development. He is the Founder and Project Lead of Project Mīzān, an AI-powered ESG and due diligence platform supported by the British Council’s Global SDG Grant. Mīzān is built on leading global ESG frameworks and best practice corporate sustainability reports to streamline compliance and advance responsible business practices in global supply chains.
Saad has worked extensively within both the United Nations and Organization of Islamic Cooperation ecosystems. His roles have spanned economic empowerment, sustainable trade facilitation, and private sector development across Asia, MENA, and Sub-Saharan Africa. As Country Programme Manager at ACT (Action, Collaboration, Transformation), he supported multinational brands and garment sector unions to align operations with EU sustainability legislation. At the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development, he led digital transformation, green growth, and SME acceleration initiatives.
He is the Global SDG 8 Ambassador for the British Council and was awarded the Universitas 21 Leaders of the Future Award and Erasmus Mundus Scholarship recipient. Syed co-authored a book with Göttingen University Press and continues to publish thought leadership on ESG, SDG 8, and responsible trade.
Educated through the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master's in Global Markets and Local Creativities at the University of Glasgow, University of Barcelona, and University of Göttingen, Saad brings a systems-thinking approach to ethical innovation and sustainable economic development.
