How the British Council Supports Project Mīzān
British Council Global SDG Grant
Project Mīzān is proudly supported by the British Council through its Global SDG Grant programme, which funds innovative alumni-led initiatives that advance the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The grant provides both financial resources and global visibility, enabling Mīzān to transition from concept to reality as a pioneering AI-powered compliance and due diligence platform.
Syed Saad Ali Pasha’s role as British Council SDG 8 Ambassador
As the Global SDG 8 Ambassador for Decent Work and Economic Growth, I lead Project Mīzān with a vision to make sustainability compliance more accessible and practical for businesses, practitioners, and students worldwide. My role involves:
- Steering the project strategy and ensuring alignment with SDG 8 and cross-cutting SDGs 5 (Gender Equality), 10 (Reduced Inequalities), 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and 13 (Climate Action).
- Mobilizing partnerships with organizations such as the MAJU University, MATZ Solutions, chambers of commerce, and ESG experts.
- Designing knowledge exchange activities, including workshops, webinars, and training sessions to build capacity and expand impact across SMEs, UK alumni, and students.
- Overseeing the AI model’s development, ensuring it is trained on robust sources such as global ESG frameworks, sectoral standards, national legislations, and 250+ sustainability reports.
